FAQs

How are Outdoor Voices and PHA working together?

At Outdoor Voices, our mission is to inspire recreation and help people lead happier, healthier, and more active lives together. We believe that fitness isn’t measured by performance and celebrate making activity a fun, sustainable part of everyday life.

A healthy relationship with activity starts at an early age, and we admire the work Partnership for a Healthier America is doing to create positive experiences for children in physical activity. We’re excited to join them in their mission to encourage healthy lifestyles, nation-wide.

Who is the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA)?
PHA is a nonprofit dedicated to improving health by making the healthy choice the easy choice for all people in all communities. PHA was founded in 2010 in conjunction with, but independent from, First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let's Move! effort. Supporting PHA’s effort is honorary chair First Lady Michelle Obama, alongside honorary vice-chairmen The Honorable William H. Frist, MD, and US Senator Cory A. Booker (D-NJ).
What does Doing Things mean?
At Outdoor Voices, we live by the simple tenet that Doing Things is better than not Doing Things. We don’t see a start or finish to activity, but believe it can be a fun, sustainable part of everyday life.
How much will Outdoor Voices donate through this partnership, and what is the time frame for the donation?
On May 10th, from 12am est to 11:59pm pst, Outdoor Voices will donate the first $50k of online and in-store sales to Partnership for Healthier America.
What will OV's donation support?
This donation to PHA will help them continue their mission to end childhood obesity within a generation and give every child the chance he or she deserves to live a long, healthy life.
Why does PHA focus on physical activity?

We know that active kids work and play better. They score up to 40 percent higher on tests and are 15 percent more likely to go to college. They also have increased concentration, better school attendance and behavior, healthier eating habits and a stronger sense of self than inactive kids.

Parents, caregivers, teachers, coaches and more play an important role in helping kids stay active, so PHA works with companies to encourage access to physical activity and promote tips and tricks throughout their media channels to make it easier. To date, more than 3.9 million kids have moved more thanks to physical opportunities created by PHA partners.
